The DALL·E 2 Prompt Book

dallery.gallery/the-dalle-2-prompt-book

Free 82 page book to help get you started with AI image generation.

Contains guides to: aesthetics, vibes, emotional prompt language, photography, film styles, illustration styles, art history, 3D art, prompt engineering, outpainting, inpainting, editing, variations, creating landscape and portrait images in DALL·E, merging images, and more!”

Hot Take:

This is one of the most comprehensive resources I’ve seen for learning how to generate images with AI. Even though it says “book,” it really functions more like a powerpoint or flip book. Easy to navigate, really educational, and super cool. GPT-3

Gen AI Market Map

A visual, color-coded chart of top AI tools broken down into:

  • Text
  • Video
  • Image
  • Code
  • Speech
  • 3D
  • Other

Hot Take:

This is v2 of this chart by Sequoia Capital. I found it really interesting to see the apps broken down by area of interest. It is also cool that they update the chart based on recommendations from the Twitterverse.

“Top AI tools” is obviously subjective. But it’s still a cool / useful chart.

Note: “Gen AI” is short for Generative AI – in other words, AI that creates things (text, images, etc).

PROMPTS!

The key to success with Generative AI is becoming skilled at writing prompts….or skilled at acquiring prompts written by others. Before you say this sounds unethical, there are lots of resources where prompts are openly shared. And, folks have even started selling prompts! (I don’t know why that surprised me, but it did!)

Here are a few prompt resources that I’ve come across:

ChatGPT: How to write the perfect prompts – Primer on prompting for beginners. Basic, but useful if you are trying to get your head around prompting. (Note: even though this specifies ChatGPT, the concepts apply to any AI tools.)

PromptBase.com – Paid, but most are just a couple bucks.

100 Best ChatGPT Prompts to Unleash AI’s Potential – Great free resource to learn about prompting and get some inspo. Love that they even include Comedy prompts (though I wouldn’t get your hopes up for big laughs).

Here come the robot doctors.

www.axios.com/2023/01/18/chatgpt-ai-health-care-doctors

Brief, accessible article about a study done asking ChatGPT to diagnose medical conditions and recommend treatments.

Hot Take:

Healthcare is one of the industries where I predict we’ll see the most positive effects of AI. At first blush, it may seem terrifying to trust a machine with your health, but consider: An AI “doctor” will have all of your medical history, all medications, allergies, family pre-dispositions, and bloodwork results….but also an entire library of medical textbooks and journals. Compare this to the memory of a human which is limited in capacity and is affected by stress, fatigue, and even what they had for lunch. My money is on the robot to make an educated diagnosis and treatment plan!

If you aren’t as optimistic as I am, don’t worry, autonomous AI doctors are a long way off. I’m looking forward to the collaboration of man and machine in this case.
